This was our first time using Rover and our dogs first stay with Richard & Evelin. Their high ratings are for a reason as we couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. They truly care about dogs and took excellent care of our senior dog. We really loved the photos and updates they sent throughout our dogs stay. Can't recommend them enough!
Our Penny has some special requirements and Richard and Evelyn were the perfect choice for her. We would not hesitate to use them again.
These guys are the best sitters around! Love the updates they send and how well they take care of my older dog. Great place to board your pooch.
My senior rescue Miriam has some quirks and can be high maintenance. Richard and Evelyn were extremely thoughtful and accommodating about her needs and comfort while she stayed with them. They were also highly communicative about how she was doing! Miri loved them, and I would highly recommend them for folks with older or anxious dogs. We will definitely use their services again when in the Springfield area!

We keep a notebook handy containing a printed copy of your buddy's itinerary that contains info you provided to make his / her stay as SAFE & COMFORTABLE as possible. We are requesting that you keep Rover updated with all pertinent care information regarding quirks, behavioral characteristics, vet info, medications, feeding practices, energy level, toys & games, compatibility with other dogs, habits, preferences, etc... The more info you provide, the BETTER JOB WE ARE ABLE TO DO!!!
A typical day
* - SMALL / MEDIUM DOGS ONLY - Although we still love large dogs, we no longer accept newcomers OVER APPROX 40lb. thereby creating a SAFE HAVEN for small dogs. (The pint-sized pups don't feel threatened, bullied or intimidated by large ones.) * - DISCIPLINE IS NOT OUR STRONGEST VIRTUE - He/she is lost, lonely & scared! As such, when they look at us with those sad eyes &/or tremble we have trouble saying no. If you don't want your pup pampered, we probably aren't your best choice. Your little buddy may pick up a few bad habits like laying on the sofa, our laps, or sleeping in our beds. We simply make him/her SAFE, SECURE & HAPPY as possible until your return. * - WE REQUIRE A MEET & GREET TO PRE-SCREEN EVERY DOG whenever possible to insure a SAFE, SECURE & COMFORTABLE environment for ALL!! * - WE MAY WATCH MORE THAN ONE DOG AT A TIME DURING SCHEDULE OVERLAPS. * - BOTH SHORT TERM & EXTENDED STAYS WELCOMED * - F/T COMPANIONSHIP / SUPERVISION * - NO HOLIDAY RATE HIKES * - MULTIPLE dog DISCOUNT * - Fenced back yard outside, gates into every room inside, a friendly dog to keep your baby company & years of training & experience. * - After 7 years with ROVER watching several hundred dogs, graduating ROVER 101, an AMERICAN RED CROSS CAT & DOG FIRST AID COURSE, DOG BEHAVIOR & TRAINING COURSES (we have learned to recognize, understand, cope with and/or prevent a wide variety of dog related problems), VOLUNTEERING two years for the APL (fed & walked dogs, cleaned cages and took dogs on nursing home visits), we have experienced just about every possible situation that you can imagine! Even though we have little formal training, through years of ownership, time, experience, trial & error, maturity and common sense we have become good at what we do! Now, we feel comfortable saying that “WE KNOW DOGS”. *- WE ARE CONVENIENTLY LOCATED IN THE NE OUTSKIRTS OF SPRINGFIELD, DIRECTLY WEST OF I-55 (under a mile) a few blocks SW of Sangamon Ave. & Dirksen Pkwy. MID-WAY BETWEEN EXIT 100B AND THE STATE FAIRGROUNDS. - MAIN THOROUGHFARES TO AREA HOSPITALS, TOURIST SITES, PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION, LODGING ETC...

WE'RE BACK!! After taking several months to watch dogs for satisfied repeat customers only, we are now accepting booking requests with a few new restrictions. We no longer watch dogs over 40lbs., request med/low energy potty trained dogs, administer oral dosage medicine only and no longer accept dogs with severe medical conditions or special needs. Our profile may show few recent reviews and little activity, it's because our repeat clients understandably prefer not to leave redundant reviews. Having become victims of our own success we were forced to make a decision. We could either keep accepting all dogs to make more money or set limits to once again enjoy our golden years. So, we decided to quit taking large dogs to cut back on our number of requests. This allows us time to pamper your little loved ones. We are senior citizens that rarely leave home. As such, your little buddies will have us here to care for them 24/7 excluding a trip to the doctor, grocery store, etc.
